More adoptive parents in Camden Borough

More local residents from all different walks of life should learn more about becoming an adoptive parent, Camden Council has claimed.

In an effort to get more people along to a special adoptive parent evening, which coincides with National Adoption Week, the council has said that all corners of the community should be represented when children are allocated homes.

Councillor Janet Grauberg, executive member for children and young people at the council, said: “During National Adoption Week we want to encourage people from all walks of life to find out more about becoming an adoptive parent.

“Many people have found incredible joy and satisfaction in giving a child a loving home and the best possible start in life. Often these children have had a difficult start in life and would benefit from growing up in a loving, stable family environment. I would like to encourage anyone who has thought about adopting to come along to our information evening to find out more,” the councillor added.

The open evening will take place on Thursday 3 December 2009 between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Crowndale Centre in Mornington Crescent. An informal presentation will give information about the adoption process in Camden.
