Hampstead’s Dinner Lady of the Year
Ellen Gahan from South Hampstead Junior School, Netherhall Gardens has been awarded the title of Dinner Lady of the Year.
The competition was organised by School Link the Book People company and children around the country were asked to nominate their favourite dinner lady/man by writing a poem or making a collage expressing the reason why they thought their nomination should be the winner.
Eve Townsend, 10, nominated Ellen and in doing so won herself a hamper of books and an iPod Nano. The school also won £1,000 worth of books.
Ms Gahan was presented with a commemorative plate and shopping vouchers by Nora Sands the dinner lady that appeared on the Jamie Oliver School Dinners TV programme.
